Welcome to this series of java tutorials. If you are beginning to program in Java - carry on reading ! While learning Java, it does help if you have some prior background of another programming language like c++ (since java's syntax borrows heavily from it), however this is not mandatory.

This tutorial will be of benefit to the absolute beginner since the first two chapters explain the basic concepts and must-know's before you can actually start learning Java.
